AFTER MONTHS OF HEARTBREAK AND FRUSTRATION…

…I’ve finally found a good Indian restaurant in Madrid. A very good one, in fact. Here are its details:

Taj Indian Restaurant

Calle Marqués de Cubas, 6

28014 Madrid

Metro: Banco de España (Cibeles)

Tel: 91 531 5059

Isn’t that great? Now if I can just find a descent Chinese restaurant in Madrid, maybe Calvin Trillin will return my calls.

  1. hey, Sal,

    Who is Calvin Trillin?
And why don’t you tell us what did you both have as dinner last time you went there?
We spanish people have to hurry up and go to this restaurant as soon as possible. In a few weeks it is going to be full as all your american readers are going to come to Madrid. Now your blog is a sort of Arguiñano Program.

  2. OK…we had the following to eat at Taj:

    – Samosas
    – Pakoras
    – Rogan gost
    – Saag gost
    – Galub jamam

    I’m sure that clarifies things.

BTW, Calvin Trillin is the world’s funniest food writer. His new book is called “Feeding a Yen.”

  3. Hey Marta:

We ate the following stuff at Taj:

    – Samosas.
    – Pakoras.
    – Rogan gost.
    – Saag gost.
    – Gulub jaman.

I’m sure that clears things up, assuming your Hindi isn’t rusty.

BTW, Calvin Trillin is an American writer who loves Chinese food. His food books are very funny. His latest is called “Feeding a Yen”, and includes an article on pimientos de padron.
